Igor Grimmich (1979) fully deserves his position as one of the greatest talents of contemporary Czech art. The ever-increasing number of his exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad serves as proof. This is not, however, a question of just the past few years. A graduate from Michal Rittstein’s Studio of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Grimmich attracted attention while still a student when he came third in an art exhibition of young artists, ARS KONTAKT, held in 2006. What makes his paintings so unique that Theky draw the growing attention of not only the professional but also general public?
