Hubert Kaplan

Hubert Kaplan (Born 1940) is active/lives in Germany.  Hubert Kaplan is known for Realist style genre, landscape and animal painting.

Hubert Kaplan was born in 1940 in Munich, Germany.

Kaplan first learned the profession of wallpaperer and then completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter.

He later studied painting at the Academy in Munich. Inspired by Eduard I Schleich and Adolf Heinrich Lier, he mainly painted Bavarian landscapes.

Afterwards he undertook many study trips, including intercontinental ones. On study trips Kaplan visited Italy, Greece, France, Mexico and Africa. Impressions from these ventures also found their way into his motivic repertoire.

Kaplan's style is characterized by its own natural realism with a high level of detail.
 
Among his most common subjects, however, are scenes in the European rural milieu with farmers and craftsmen, in which he pays special attention to the cattle in addition to the staff, thus breathing life into the landscape.
