He An

He An (Born 1927) is active/lives in China.  He An is known for Painting.

An He (An Ho) was born in Beijing and studied painting first with her mother and then with Pu Ru, whom she met as a teenager in Nanjing.  She studied with the master for seventeen years and lived with his family for part of that time.  With his encouragement, she studied the Chinese classics and learned to paint by copying ancient masters.

An Ho has exhibited her paintings widely in Asia, Europe, and the United States.  In 1994 she became the first woman artist to have a solo exhibition at Taiwan's National Museum of History, which broke attendance records.
