Eduard Hildebrandt

Eduard Hildebrandt (1819 - 1869) was active/lived in California / Germany.  Eduard Hildebrandt is known for Landscape, marine and genre paintings.

Born in Danzig, Germany on Sept. 9, 1818. Hildebrandt was a pupil of Isabey and active in Paris in 1855.  During 1862-64 he made a trip around the world and stopped in California.  After returning to Germany, he published a three-volume set in 1867 based upon his travels entitled Reise um die Erde.  He died in Berlin on Oct. 25, 1869.
