Edmond Heuze

Edmond Heuze (1884 - 1967) was active/lived in France.  Edmond Heuze is known for Still life, figure painting.

Painter and engraver, Edmond Amédée Heuzé was also director of the Sagot gallery in Paris, where he sold paintings by his friends Maurice Utrillo, Suzanne Valadon, André Thomas Rouault, in addition to his own. He maintained close ties with Utrillo, Jules Depaquit and Georges Tiret-Bognet. Thanks to the generosity of Gustave Coquiot, a painting dealer, among others, he was able to begin his career as a painter. From 1920 he exhibited at the Bernheim-Jeune gallery and in 1923 at the Chéron gallery, the same gallery that in 1930 exhibited his circus series. In 1938 he won the Paul-Guillaume prize for his portrait of the mime Farina. In 1948 he became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts. According to Jean-Paul Crespelle (1910-1994), he also became a teacher of Francis Carco .
