Dorothy March

Dorothy March (1906 - 1992) was active/lived in California, Louisiana.  Dorothy March is known for Portrait painting, southwest Indian subjects.

Dorothy March was born in New Orleans, LA on June 20, 1906. After graduating from Tulane University, March studied at Broadmoor Academy in Colorado Springs. Moving to southern California in 1928, she further studied at UCLA, Otis and Chouinard Art Institutes. While a resident of San Marino, she was active in the local art scene. Primarily a portraitist, she also painted scenes from her world travels and visits to Indian reservations in New Mexico and Arizona. Married twice, her husbands were Hobart Henley and Fred Shane. She died in Beverly Hills, CA on Jan. 22, 1992.
