Dan Garrett

Dan Garrett (Born 1948) is active/lives in Wyoming.  Dan Garrett is known for Indian figure sculpture.

Weaving myth and history, Dan Garrett depicts a world full of mystery and adventure and takes us to a place in which primal instincts and unseen forces ruled the earth.  Dan's interest is in representing in bronze, mythology and archaeology, especially historic and prehistoric civilization from the High Plains area.

Dan says, "It amazes me and gives me deep respect for these people, the Paleo- Indians, that they could survive year round out on the open prairie with only primitive technology and the small support groups that they had to work with".

Garret began his fine arts career as a painter and then, intrigued by the challenges of three dimensions, tackled clay, wood and bronze to depict his favorite subject, Native Americans.  He individualizes each bronze by choosing the color of the patina and oils and waxes each base.
