Carl Walter Liner

Carl Walter Liner (1914 - 1997) was active/lived in Switzerland.  Carl Liner is known for Painting.

Carl Walter Liner came from a family of artists in Appenzell.  His father Carl August Liner (1871-1946) was a renowned landscape and portrait painter.  Carl Walter studied from 1937 to 1939 with Émile Othon Friesz at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris.  He traveled often in the Mediterranean region and worked in Zurich, Paris, the Provence and in Appenzell.  In 1998, the Museum Liner Appenzell (today Art Museum Appenzell) was opened in his and his father's honor.
