August Weber

August Weber (1817 - 1873) was active/lived in Germany.  August Weber is known for Forest scene painting.

Weber began his training as a landscape painter at H. Rosenkranz and continued it at H. Schilbach in Darmstadt.  At the Städel Art Institute in Frankfurt he learned then first the perspective drawing and studied 1838-39 at the Dusseldorf Academy under JW Schirmer.  In 1840 he opened his own studio in Dusseldorf and trained numerous artists.

"Unlike his teacher Schirmer Weber away from detailed realism and aimed instead at a harmony of colors and shapes. He preferred earth-brown and black colors green and effective lighting moods of different times of the day.
