Born in Corning, NY on Nov. 25, 1859, Armin Buchterkirch lived all his life in Rochester, NY. He studied painting in Munich, Germany.

Winters were often spent in California and the Bermudas.

He died in Rochester on Feb. 28, 1919.

His work includes portraits and landscapes.
