Hugh Edward Weller (1898 - 1982) was active/lived in Colorado, California.  Hugh Weller is known for Theater scenery, murals, paintings.

Hugh Edward Weller (1898-1982)

Hugh Weller painted scenery at Denver's Elitch Gardens and the Denham Theatre before studying with George Bellows at the Chicago Art Institute and at the British Academy in Rome.  In the 1920s he taught at the Denver Art Academy, established a studio at Grand Lake, and executed murals at East High School and the Colorado State Capitol annex.

He lived and worked in Southern California and New Orleans in the 1940s, and returned to Colorado in the 1950s.  Weller exhibited at the Biltmore Gallery, Los Angeles and the Denver Art Museum.
