The following was published in the The Chico Enterprise Record, c. 1935:

How two former Chico High School Students met in Japan recently has been related in a letter received by Miss Angeline Stansbury, art teacher at Chico High School.  The letter was from a former pupil, Ancil P. McNett and tells of a meeting with Edward Terada, now a well known artist in Japan.

The letter states that Ancil P. McNett re-enlisted in the army last July.  He was shipped to Japan in November as a cook.  He was at first assistant mess sergeant but is now mess sergeant with staff sergeant's rating.

We quote that part of the letter which tells of him meeting his former school mate Edward Terada.

"Well, we had the walls of our mess hall painted white.  Then we had two artists paint pictures on the walls.  I was talking to one of the Japanese artists one day and told him of Edward.  He asked me to write his name on paper so I did.  The   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2816 characters.]  Artist bio
