Neil (James Neil) Boyle (1931 - 2006) was active/lived in California, British Columbia / Canada.  Neil Boyle is known for Action oriented figure, genre, interior and treescape painting, illustration.

Sadly...I want to inform you of the death of Neil Boyle, at 2pm pst Saturday Feb. 4th.  Neil died as the direct results of esophageal cancer which he fought valiantly. For the last few years, Neil lived in the city of Courtenay on Vancouver Island, Canada.  Prior to that, he lived in and around Los Angeles for 50 years. Starting in the early 50's he attended Art Center and then Chouinard Art Institute, where I met him. He worked in several illustration studios but was one of the early founders of Group West. I was with him for ten years there. He was one of the most innovative illustrators in the U.S. and was president of the Society of Illustrators of LA and recipient of their life achievement award.
