Ludvik W. (Louis) Durchanek, a renowned sculptor and painter was born in Vienna Austria. He studied painting with Umberto Romano and Jon Corbino at the Art Students’ League in New York.

Durchanek exhibited his work at the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Albany Institute of History & Art, Museum of Modern Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Silvermine Guild, Denver Art Museum, Los Angeles Museum of Art, St. Louis Art Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts etc.

The estate of Vice President Nelson Rockefeller and other notable collectors own work by Ludvik W. (Louis) Durchanek.
