Bucks County, Pennsylvania Impressionist painter and most likely the last artist with direct ties to the first generation of members of the New Hope Pennsylvania Impressionist School, Evelyn Faherty died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Newtown, Pennsylvania. She was born on September 29, 1919 in Wertsville, East Amwell, New Jersey.

After high school where she demonstrated a talent in the visual arts, Evelyn Allen Faherty studied with nationally significant American teacher and painter Harry Leith-Ross, 1886- 1973, who was born in Mauritius Island in the South Indian Ocean. Leith-Ross emigrated to the United States in 1903. He was a graduate of academies in France including the Delecluse and the Julian. In New York he studied at the National Academy of Design School starting in 1910.
