Acisclo Freire

Acisclo Manzano Freire (Born 1940) is active/lives in Spain.  Acisclo Freire is known for Abstract figurative sculpture.

Acislo Manzano began his training at the Professional Training School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago, the sculptor has commented that among his vocations were those of being everything: writer, bishop, general, painter and poet. During his early days, he began to work in Francisco Asorey's workshop. With his work he established himself as one of the so-called "renovators of contemporary Galician art". 

Together with Xaime Quesada, by the hand of Vicente Risco, he formed what was called the group of "Os Artistiñas", also called "O Volter", name of the bar where they met and held a gathering. Acisclo Manzano is part, as a full-time academic elected, of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Galicia. His work is defined as a figurative artist, although some of his works bear the stamp of abstraction.
