The Italian painter and sculptor Tommaso Cascella was born in Rome in 1951.  He studied architecture at the university of his hometown.

In the mid-1980's, Cascella began to dedicate himself to fine arts.  He created paintings in acrylic that were inspired by the abstract expressionism.  Later, he faced up to the depiction of archaic signs before adopting a way of painting based on overlapping rectangular shapes and forms.

The artist lives and works in Rome and Bomarzo (Latium).
