Luis Fernando Benedit was an Argentinean artist born in 1937, a master influenced by experimental and informal art, with his work becoming prevalent post war.  He was also greatly influenced by the Cobra movement with his pieces reflecting their same ideas.  His elemental forms bordered on folk art and were the combination of colorful pop art along with architectural shapes.

He ingeniously designed his characters to reflect mechanical attributes and a plasticity which is successfully conveyed through his use of color and varied perspective that pushed the two-dimensional plane of the canvas, all with a humoristic touch.  These elements are infused in ephemeral objects such as ice cream, to connect the viewer to memories of childhood and happiness, this simplicity and humor is also exalted in his neo figurative works of the 1960s which also touches upon a psychological nerve.
