Istvan Haasz

Istvan Haasz (Born 1946) was active/lived in Hungary.  Istvan Haasz is known for Geometric compositions with lines, rectangles, and colors.

István Haász is a Hungarian artist who was born in an unknown year. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest from 1975 to 1979 and later became a lecturer at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest from 1988 to 2008. Haász's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally since the 1970s. 

He has received several awards and grants, including a DAAD scholarship in Worpswede in 1992, a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York in 1996, and the Munkácsy Prize in 2002. Haász explores the relationship between surfaces and spatial effects in his work, using compositions based on lines, rectangles, and colors to create a dramaturgy that humanizes geometry. 

He is a full member of the Open Structures Art Association (OSAS) since 2006 and the Széchenyi Academy of Literature and Art since 2009. His works can be found in several prestigious museums and private collections.
