DAVID COLEMAN HICKMAN, 72, of New Ulm, died August 23, 2010 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham, Texas. A memorial service to honor his memory will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building on the main campus of the University of Houston, Room 132D in the Dudley Recital Hall.

David Hickman was born December 2, 1937 in Alexandria, Virginia to Richard Allen and Martha Lucille (Schnert) Hickman. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Y. Gizelle Patterson in Industry, Texas in the old Industry Methodist Church.

David Hickman was a Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Houston. He obtained a B.A. from DePauw University, and a M.A. and M.F.A from Northern Illinois University.
