Balthasar Beschey

Balthasar Beschey (1708 - 1776) was active/lived in Netherlands, Flemish.  Balthasar Beschey is known for Allegorical painting.

Balthasar Beschey was director of the Antwerp Academy from 1755. He trained with the little-known Pieter Strick and in 1752 he became master of the Guild of Saint Luke. During his career he also devoted himself to the art trade, in particular exporting works to England (See C. Gould, S. Mesplède, Marketing Art in the British Isles, 1700 to the Present: A Cultural History, Farnham 2012, p. 106).
