Alfred Ernest Baxter (1878 - 1936) was active/lived in New Zealand.  Alfred Baxter is known for Painting.

Born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1878, Alfred Baxter was a businessman who eventually became a professional artist.  He studied under Samuel Moreton and in Europe from 1929-33 under some of Europe's best art teachers.  He exhibited at the Royal Academy and Paris Salon before his return to Christchurch where he continued to exhibit his work.  Baxter died in 1936. His work is represented in the Hocken Library Collection and a number of New Zealand galleries
