Maurice Compris was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1885. He studied with Drake and Alebee. He was a member of the North Shore Art Association and the Rockport (MA) Art Association (RAA). He was known for his portraits, still lifes, and murals. He died in 1939. (Source: RAA Yearbook, 1940)
