Angelo Abrate

Angelo Abrate (1900 - 1985) was active/lived in Italy.  Angelo Abrate is known for Mountain scene painting.

Angel (Angelo) Abrate, born April 21, 1900 in Turin and died September 10, 1985 in Sallanches (Haute-Savoie), was a mountain painter of Piedmontese origin before coming to settle in France. Born on April 21, 1900 in Turin, he spent part of his childhood, from 1908, in Marseille where his parents emigrated. Back in Turin, at the age of 16, he had to work to support his parents. He became a worker in metallurgy.

His passion for the mountain led him to his practice of mountaineering. and he made several firsts in the largest alpine massifs. He was admitted as a member of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) and was also a member of the French Alpine Club (CAF) and the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) in Chamonix.

At the age of 27, when he became an industrial designer, he decided, given the success of his first exhibitions, to devote himself completely to painting.
