Yuan Xiao-Fang was born in Wuhan, China, in 1961.  Yuan graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 1986, and currently teaches at the institute.  His recent exhibitions include: 2000 "Society - The 2nd Academic Invitation Exhibition of Upriver Museum," Chengdu; 2001 "Reshuffling - Contemporary Art Exhibition," Shenzhen College of Sculpture, Shenzhen; 2001 "Breathing - Contemporary Art Exhibition, the 2nd Exhibition," Hubei Art Museum, Hubei; 2002 "The 17th Asian International Art Exhibition," the Daejeon Museum, Korea; 2002 "The 1st China Art Triennial," Guangzhou Art Museum, Guangzhou; 2003 "The 18th Asian International Art Exhibition," Hong Kong; 2005 "Shanghai Art Fair," Shanghai.
