Nelson Domínguez is a Cuban artist born in Baire, Cuba. He studied at the San Alejandro Plastic Arts Academy and at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, where he later became a professor and head of the Department of Painting. Domínguez's work is characterized by his use of warm colors and black accents to depict rural life and landscapes. He has won numerous awards and mentions in Cuba and other countries, including the National Prize for Plastic Arts in 2009. His works can be found in private collections of renowned personalities such as the Queen of Holland, Steven Spielberg, Robert Redford, and Liv Ullmann. Domínguez has held more than one hundred individual exhibitions and has participated in art fairs and auctions in Cuba and in many countries on all continents. He is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP).
