Jean Marais (1914 - 1998) was active/lived in France.  Jean Marais is known for Painting and sculpture.

Born into a modest Belgian family, Georges Wasterlain worked as a miner before embarking on a self-taught career as a painter and sculptor. Influenced by the social realism of Constantin Meunier, he created figures of workers, including a statue of a miner housed at Charleroi town hall.
