Ina May Moore

Ina May Moore (Born 1920) is active/lives in Arizona.  Ina Moore is known for Southwest landscape painting, teaching.

With her parents Jonathan Loveall and Philomena Salmon Booth, Ina May Moore, born in Hayden, Arizona, spent her childhood in Mayer, an Arizona mining and cattle town near Prescott.  From an early age, she began sketching, finding subjects in her surroundings.

When she was age eleven, she and her family moved to Berkeley, California where her father worked on an a Master's Degree at the University of California.  The next year, the family returned to Arizona, settling in Tucson where Ina May attended high school and the University of Arizona.  In 1942 she received her education degree, and shortly after married Minton Moore and then began a life-long art career.

From 1946, Ina May Moore lived in Phoenix and became active in the art community as a water color painter and sculptor in metal.  From 1946 to 1950, she taught in the elementary schools, and from 1965 to 1988 was on the staff of the Phoenix Art Museum.  In 1965, she earned an MA Degree fro   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1638 characters.]  Artist bio
