Georges Noel (1924 - 2010) was active/lived in New York / France.  Georges Noel is known for Abstract painting, collage.

Noël was born in 1924, in Bezier, France. 

He began his education as an engineer.  Noël then studied both in Pau from 1939 to1945, both sculpture and painting.  The movements by the art form informal and Noveau Réalisme movements inspired Noël.

In 1955, his artistic career began to flourish after Noël moved to Paris.  As it continued to accelerate he moved to the United States.  In the 1950s through 2000, he worked on canvases and hand-made papers. 

During the German occupation Noël  was enngaged in the underground and was a draftsman-designer for aerospace company.  Noël was unable return to Paris until Christmas 1956.  Once in Paris,  Noël devoted himself entirely to painting.

In 1969, Noël was a professor at the Minneapolis School of Art.  He then moved to New York from 1969-1983.  In 1983, Noël returned to Paris.
