Following is a biography submitted by a great nephew of this artist:

Fletcher Ransom was my great uncle. My uncle, Dr. William Heatley, recently updated the "Ransom Family of America," a genealogical history. William Heatley was Fletcher Ransom's nephew. The following is the entry from the book, which I have left inedited, except to delete the names of some of the private owners of some of his paintings. The book also contains several pictures of him, his family and his paintings:

Fletcher Charles Ransom. b. October 23, 1870 at Alamo, Michigan, son of Caroline Hydorn and John Noyes Ransom. Married Jessamine McDonald, daughter of William H. McDonald, at Providence, R.I. on Thursday, June 29, 1899. Jessamine was an opera singer. Fletcher died May 2, 1943 at Plainwell, MI and is interred in the family plot in Alamo Cemetery.
