Belgian painter and illustrator (1879 Brussels - 1957 Woluwe-Saint-Lambert), initially influenced by late French Impressionism and James Ensor, but later developed his individual form simplistic style. Member of the "Brabant Fauves" by Rik Wouters.


Painter and illustrator, his Impressionist allure of painting is often called naive painting. His works are narrative and popular, and must be located in Brussels life. They bathe in a naughty atmosphere of gentle irony, playful eroticism of youthful daring, poetry and dream.

Around 1940, his palette evolved towards a more clear colors with a free technique, addressing mythological subjects sometimes bathing in some eroticism.
