1954:  June 13th Arecio Moncada was born in San Cristóbal, Táchira State, Venezuela.

1973:  Academic studies in the “ESCUELA PLASTICA DE ARTE” (School of Plastic
Arts) in San Cristóbal, Táchira State, Venezuela. His teacher: MANUEL
OSORIO VELASCO, guided him in the comprehension of the landscape, the aesthetic of the environment, the use of color, and the differences between light and space.

1974-1978:  Moved by his love for the arts, Arecio and other painters founded the “CENTRO
EXPERIMENTAL DE ARTE” (The Center of Experimental Arts) in San Cristóbal, Táchira State. During this period he worked with the Artist Groups: CATEDRAL (Cathedral) and MONTAÑA (Mountain).

1979-1986:  He traveled to Barquisimeto, Lara State, Venezuela, Arecio was caught by the
beautiful landscape and it´s light. Captivated for his trip he returns to San Cristobal, with the idea of materialize his experiences in Barquisimeto.
