Yacai Qiu

Yacai Qiu (1949/53 - 2013) was active/lived in China, Taiwan, Province of China.  Yacai Qiu is known for Mod portrait and figure paintings.

Born in Yilan City in 1949.  He has held many exhibitions in Wistaria-House where many artists emerged in '80s.  He has received many major awards in literature and has participated in over 30 exhibitions for paintings.  Some of the major exhibitions include: 1990, "300 Years of Taiwan Arts," National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts; 1995, "Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and Chiu Ya-Tsai" group exhibition, Switzerland; "Group Exhibition of Ju-Ming and Chiu Ya-Tsai," in Morocco (1998) and in Switzerland (1999); 2005, Taiwan contemporary Arts Singapore, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts; 2006, Singapore, Shanhai, Beijing Art Exhibition.  He uses traditional Chinese outline drawing technique to create idolization figures.  He tries to explore the condition of humanity under suppressed reality.
