Robert Ryel Bliss was born on October 30, 1925 at the Newton Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts.  His parents were William Jennings Bryant Bliss (1897-1960) and Mabel G. Ryel Bliss (1890-1984).  Robert R. Bliss died of a ruptured thoracic aneurysm in South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Massachusetts on January 11, 1981.  He is buried with his parents in the Newton Cemetery, Newton, Massachusetts.  At the time of his death, he was a resident of Hull, Massachusetts.
