Dora Frost (Born 1951) is active/lives in New York, Florida.  Dora Frost is known for Conceptual botanical painting, pastels.

New York artist Dora Frost uses traditional mediums and materials in intriguing conceptual ways--to explore the essence of our relationship to nature and culture in particular that of the 20th century.

Since the late 1970s she has produced a unique body of work marked by different series ranging from beautiful monumental pastels of peonies to multi-part installations comprised of oils on canvases  exploring the writings of Proust. 

Frost's striking pastels of flowers offer a fresh vision of nature's beauty and the tradition of the still life.  In Proust and other series looking at life in the 1950s and prominent men of the 20th century, Frost provides a visual investigation of history, memory and our sense of meaning.
