Charles Howard Johnson

Charles Howard Johnson (1796 - 1896) was active/lived in New York.  Charles Johnson is known for Illustrator-magazine.

He lived in Atchison, Kansas as a boy where his father managed a grain elevator.  Johnson attended one year of art school in Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to New York City in 1889.  

He worked for Life and other prominent magazines as an illustrator in the 1890s.  His depiction of fakirs at the World's Fair was included in an exhibition of magazine illustrations at the Yale Univ. School of Fine Arts in 1894.
