Moulay Ahmed Drissi

Moulay Ahmed Drissi (1923 - 1973) was active/lived in Morocco.  Moulay Drissi is known for Painting.

Born in Marrakech in 1924, Moulay Ahmed Drissi was a farm worker up to the age of 19 and then a gardener in Marrakech.  Self-taught, he had a strong interest for painting and sculpture.  His meeting in 1945 with Swiss painters shaped the beginning of his career.

He worked and lived abroad a lot (Sweden, Italy) most notably in Paris, where he remained for a while.  His first solo exhibition took place in Lausanne in 1952. He returned to Morocco in 1956.  In 1957 during the 2nd Biennale of Alexandria, he exhibited with painters like Maurice Arama, Moha- med Ben Allal, Ben Saad Cheffaj Hassan El Glaoui , and El moznino Hazdaï.  He died in 1973 in Rabat.
