Benno Kogl, actually Benedikt Paul Kögl, was sometimes known as Kögel.  Benno was called "Katzenkögl".

Benno Kogl was born 1892 in Greding. 

Kogl's family moved to Munich in 1919.  Benno was a student of Hans von Hayek and Philipp Röth.  He was friends with the painters Alexander Köster, Ludwig Müller-Cornelius and Fritz Halberg-Krauss.

His cat paintings were exported mainly to the USA.
