Marek Chlanda

Marek Chlanda (Born 1954) was active/lived in Poland.  Marek Chlanda is known for Drawing, fascination with the creative process.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and obtained his diploma at the Faculty of Graphics in 1978. In the years 1980–1982 he was a teacher at the Krakow university. In 1983–1984, he carried out the Traveling Academy experiment with students of Vestlendets Kunstakademie in Bergen, Norway, conducting classes in various places around the world. From 1986 to 1988 he worked at the branch of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. In 1997, he was the winner of the Nowosielski Foundation Award, awarded for the first time. The most important fields of his artistic activity are drawing and sculpture. He developed an innovative combination of these two fields, testing their interaction. He introduces an element of movement into the spaces he arranges, juxtaposing it with a motionless sculpture. His works are inspired by literature, mythology and mysticism.
