François Vuagnat

François Vuagnat (1826 - 1910) was active/lived in France.  Francois Vuagnat is known for Painting.

In this work the painter chooses an idyllic natural corner, a voucher in which we see a shepherd, several cows grazing and two goats. The composition is classical, centering the main figures in the foreground and behind a large valley over which the open sky can be seen, thus showing a deep and open composition allowing us to see the distant mountains, worked with a delicate and nuanced chromatism, cold character, effect of distance, which contrasts with the warmer and denser tones of the foreground.François Vuagnat was a member of the Société des artistes français and of various French associations in Geneva, member of the Cercle des artistes (from 1853) and of the Cercle des Arts et des Lettres until his death. Painter, pupil of Jean-Léonard Lugardon and the animal painter Charles Humbert. In 1909 he organized a retrospective exhibition of his work at the Bâtiment Electoral in Geneva.
