Marjorie was the daughter of Thomas Mostyn. She was married to the artist Leonard Fuller. Marjorie Mostyn studied at St John’s Wood School or Art and the Royal Academy London between 1912-1915, where she trained under John Singer Sergeant. Her and her husband moved to St Ives, Cornwall, in 1938, where he opened the St Ives School of Painting, which he ran until his death in 1973, after which she took over. The present lot was first exhibited in 1916 at the Royal Academy.
