Jacob Happ was born in 1861. He first studied at the Städelsche Kunstinstitut, then from 1884-1887 at the Karlsruhe Art Academy under Gustav Schönleber. The focus of his work is on motifs from the Schwalm. Happ is a member of the Willingshausen painters 'colony, from 1895 of the artists' colony of Klausen / South Tyrol and from 1904 of the Frankfurt-Cronberger Künstlerbund.
