Lucien Joseph Fontanarosa

Lucien Joseph Fontanarosa (1912 - 1975) was active/lived in France.  Lucien Fontanarosa is known for Realism, oil paintings.

Lucien Fontanarosa was a French artist who was trained in Lucien Simon's studio. He discovered Tunisia in 1931 and won the North African Grand Prix in 1935, which allowed him to work in Morocco for a year. He was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome after his trip to Morocco. 

Fontanarosa settled in Rabat and frequently traveled to the south, where he painted scenes of everyday life and the light of the country. He had a private exhibition in Rabat and sold a canvas to the museum in the city. The French state also bought one of his canvases for national museums.
