Fernand Dubuis

Fernand Dubuis (1908 - 1991) was active/lived in Switzerland.  Fernand Dubuis is known for Color-focused pictorial art.

Fernand Dubuis was born in 1908. Fernand Dubuis's artistic career began at the Ecole Cantonale de dessin et d'art in Lausanne, which he visited in 1928-29 for a few months. He then moved the artist to Paris, where he continued his education at several free academies in Montparnasse. Delighted with the painting of the Quattrocento, the artist toured Italy from 1934-1937. He temporarily resided in Geneva and produced his first solo exhibition in their gallery Georges Moos. At that time, his interest grew for the amalgamation of mathematics and painting. The proportions, resulting from the golden section, found their way into most of his landscapes and still lifes. To enjoy the scenery and the lighting conditions in Provence, the artist lived in Gordes each semester starting in 1950. There he met a number of working abstract artists.
