Karel Breydel is a Flemish painter from Antwerp, known for his depictions of battles and equestrian scenes.

He was the elder brother of Frans Breydel and a pupil of Pieter Rijsbraeck and Peter Yckens. His paintings are characterized by their richness of detail, drama, and movement, often set in landscapes embellished with ruins.

He worked in the same spirit as Adam Frans van der Meulen and was sometimes accused of plagiarizing him.
