Jose Diaz

Jose Diaz (1930 - 1990) was active/lived in Spain.  Jose Diaz is known for Figure, landscape, still life painting, abstract.

José Díaz (1930-1990)

Born in Campo de Criptana, Spain,  in 1930, his family later moved to Carrión de Calatrava.

A self-taught painter, he moved to Madrid in 1952 after his military service, working as a painter and decorator to earn a living.  In 1956 he has his first solo exhibition in Valladolid.

He moved to Paris in 1957 and exhibited at the Biennale International  De Paris in 1961, 1963 and 1965 being a is finalist in 1961 and 1965.  His work was part of the "20 Painters of the École De Paris" and this exhibition traveled across the United States between 1963 and 1964.
For several years he also participated in the "Salon De La Jeune Peinture".  In 1964 he has a solo exhibition in the Dirección General De Bellas Artes in Madrid.  From that date until 1977 when he returned to live in Spain for good, he spent long periods of time in his home country with exhibitions every two years in Madrid and other Spanish cities.  He ke   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 4378 characters.]  Artist bio
