Henry Pether

Henry Pether (1800 - c. 1865) was active/lived in United Kingdom, England.  Henry Pether is known for Landscape, church scene painting, nocturnes.

Henry Pether was a painter of landscapes, especially by moonlight. He was probably the son of Sebastian Pether, also an artist.

Henry Pether exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1828 to 1862, the British Institution and Suffolk Street.

As well as being known for his beautiful moonlight scenes along the Thames, he also painted other English views and scenes of Venice too.

His work is in the collections in England of the National Maritime Museum, Southampton City Art Gallery and Tate Gallery, London.
