Ferdinand Kitt

Ferdinand Kitt was born in 1897.

From 1907 to 1914, Kitt studied with Rudolf Bacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.  During this time, with Josef Dobrowsky, he made a trip to Italy.

Kitt became member of the Vienna Secession in 1919.  Here he was president from 1926 to 1929.  From 1927 through 1938, Kitt exhibited at zinc Malerkolonie.  Kitt worked as a professor at the Viennese Women's Academy from 1928 to 1947.

During World War II, Kitt joined the Vienna Secession, in 1946.  Kitt's studio in Vienna, was destroyed and he moved permanently to Gschwandt on Lake Wolfgang.  Kitt worked primarily in the areas of portraiture, genre painting and landscape design and as a draftsman for tapestries and graffiti.
