Alberto Arrue

Alberto Arrue (1878 - 1944) was active/lived in Spain.  Alberto Arrue is known for Portraying the characters and customs of the Basque Country.

Alberto Arrúe was a Spanish artist born in an unknown year. He trained with Antonio María Lecuona and completed his education at the School of Arts and Crafts with Guinea and Arámburu. In 1894, he was granted a scholarship to enter the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid and later made study trips to Rome, Paris, Marseilles, London, Bordeaux, and Argentina. 

Arrúe specialized in portraying the characters and customs of the Basque Country and exhibited his work at various official exhibitions and galleries in Spain, France, and Argentina. He is represented in public and private collections, including the Museo Provincial de Vitoria and the Diputación de Bizkaia. Arrúe died in 1944, a year after his personal exhibition held in Bilbao in 1943.
