Ida Barbour Carmichael (1884 - 1959) was active/lived in Ohio, Ontario / Canada.  Ida Carmichael is known for Abstract painting, ceramics, teaching.

"Ida B. Carmichael (b. 1884, Windham Center, Ontario, Canada, d. 1981) enjoyed a long career as an artist and educator.  She was known for abstract oil paintings, often completing series of paintings inspired from a theme such as Hawaiian legends or Finnish folk tales collected in Elias Lonnrot's Kalevala.

Her work was included in numerous exhibits throughout Ohio during her lifetime, and a retrospective exhibit was organized in 1983.

Carmichael was active in several local, state and national organizations, including: the Cincinnati Modern Art Society, Cincinnati Woman's Art Club, Museum Association of Cincinnati, National Education Association and the Ohio Education Association.
